Staff Front-End Engineer

The employer is a health technology company building software and devices for outpatient care.

Our Tampa office is growing, and we need a Staff Front-End Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Tampa office.

What you’ll do

• Champion accessibility and usability across the product
• Work with back-end engineers to define clean API contracts
• Measure and improve page performance and Core Web Vitals
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces in React and TypeScript
• Translate designs into reusable components and maintain the shared component library
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work
• Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Production experience with React or a comparable framework
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
• Experience writing automated tests for front-end code
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Familiarity with design systems and Figma
• Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Tampa, FL is $150,000 – $191,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
