As a Principal HVAC Design Engineer with the employer, you will set technical direction and help shape how the mechanical engineering team works. This position is based in New York, NY. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our New York office.
What you’ll do
- Support construction administration and commissioning
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare and education buildings
- Model systems and produce construction documents in Revit
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations
- Select equipment and write specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong coordination skills
- Experience with load calculation software
- Experience producing construction documents
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with energy modeling in eQUEST or IES
- LEED AP credential
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $161,000 – $205,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
