The employer is looking for a Principal Hardware Engineer in Round Rock, TX. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced electrical & computer engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Round Rock office.
What you’ll do
- Design high-speed digital boards with processors, memory and FPGAs
- Perform signal and power integrity analysis
- Work with firmware engineers to debug hardware-software issues
- Drive designs through manufacturing release
- Lead board bring-up and hardware validation
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with Cadence or Altium
- Lab skills with oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe or Ethernet
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- FPGA development experience
- Experience with HyperLynx or similar SI tools
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Round Rock, TX is $178,000 – $227,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
